For a
Common Rail Carrier, designed and developed an Equipment
Maintenance System for use by the Inter-modal Industry.
This system consists of four 32-bit applications:
- Wireless Inspection
Application that uses Pen For Windows and a commercial
wireless LAN protocol (Proxim) to capture an transmit
data to a remote Sybase database.
- Repair Order
Application written in Visual Basic 5.0 using Sybase
System 11 as the database which provides the mechanism
to allow remote sites to add and track repairs to
systems.
- Scheduler Application
built in Visual Basic 5.0 and using Sybase System 11 as
the back end. This provides the automated scheduling of
repairs to systems
- Damage Recovery
Application that uses PowerBuilder 4.0 and Sybase System
11 to track and create invoices for repairs.
All of these systems are
running in a Windows NT 4.0 environment. These
applications provide the means for inter-modal carriers to
recover millions of dollars in damage claims annually
while increasing accuracy, readability and speed of the
overall equipment maintenance process. |
